Rescued by Robert and Rachel Thompson in 2003 this listed country house now provides elegant accommodation in the heart of County Antrim. Whatever the reason for your visit, on holiday or on business, Marlagh Lodge combines the best of the old - elegant antiques, the finest bedlinen, lots of books and interesting objets - with all the requirements of the 21st Century guest. There are three spacious bedrooms and although guests may prefer to relax with a good book the little 'essentials' of modern life are still there - discrete TVs, direct dial telephones and Wi-Fi internet access. Our bathrooms are full of luxurious goodies from fluffy towels and bathrobes to indulgent lotions and potions guaranteed to make you feel truly pampered! Breakfast at Marlagh Lodge will certainly set you up for the day! There’s fresh fruit, fresh bread, cereals and muesli to start off with, then treats such as ‘Marlagh Lodge Tummy Warmer’ - creamy porridge with Bushmills whiskey, brown sugar and cream. We only use the best ingredients in our Ulster Fry - local sausages and bacon, traditional soda bread and potato bread and local free range eggs (usually from our own hens). Marlagh Lodge is just three miles from the centre of Ballymena with its excellent transport links and only a short drive from both Belfast International Airport, Belfast City Airport and the ferry ports of Belfast and Larne. Marlagh makes the ideal base from which to explore the very best that Northern Ireland has to offer. The stunning North Antrim Coast and the famous Glens of Antrim are less than 30 minutes away. The scenic Coast Road with its breath-taking views leads to Northern Irelands only World Heritage Site - the Giant's Causeway. All of the Province's other major tourist attractions can easily be enjoyed in a day from Marlagh Lodge - and you'll still be back in time for dinner!

Relax before dinner with an aperitif by the fire, then enjoy a five course meal in elegant surroundings.

Everything is cooked freshly, including our popular home-made wheaten bread.

Ireland has fantastic home-grown produce which we use in our daily-changing menus
and we are proud to be associated with a number of excellent local suppliers
our butcher supplies some of the best beef, lamb and duck we've tasted anywhere!.

Private Dinner Parties at Marlagh Lodge

Private Parties of four to fourteen guests may enjoy a private dinner party
in the Dining Room at Marlagh Lodge on Friday or Saturday nights.

On these evenings we serve pre-dinner drinks in the Drawing Room

Only one booking is taken for any night so guests have an exclusive dining experience.

We send a menu out in advance and parties of four may choose one option for each course
while parties of six or more may choose two options for each course.

We need to have your menu choices by 12.00 noon on the day before your booking.
